Ive started teaching

Ive started teaching myself piano but ive found its extremely difficult. I was wondering if any pianists here had any advice or exercises i could do to help me learn faster. I just want to be able to play some of Chopins easier pieces. Im mainly having trouble getting both hands properly and in time.

There is a really good book called `I used to play piano` which has loads of exercises. It also has songs which are in units. Unit 1 is very easy Unit 2 easy Unit 3 intermediate etc.

Try considering each new hand arrangement as a single motion. Perhaps you already do, bu if not.....

Although boring, practicing scales etc. will strengthen the muscles in your fingers which will help you alot. Practice extremely slowly at first (and even when you can play a piece fast, always practice slowly as well). I`m sure other people will have better advice though.
